How much does a fence cost in Northern Virginia?
Most fences here are priced per linear foot, and the material drives the number. Typical planning ranges installed: wood privacy $30–$60 per foot, vinyl privacy $40–$70, aluminum $40–$75, chain link $18–$30. Gates, old fence removal, and grade change move the total. Your on-site estimate confirms the number.
How much does 80 feet of vinyl fence cost?
At typical planning ranges of $40–$70 per linear foot installed, 80 feet of vinyl privacy fence lands roughly between $3,200 and $5,600 before gates or removal. A walk gate adds to that. The estimate is free and confirms the exact figure.
Do you need a permit for a fence in Virginia?
It depends on the jurisdiction. Fairfax County generally requires no building permit for residential fences, but zoning rules apply — 4 feet maximum in the front yard, 7 feet in side and rear yards. Arlington County caps fences at 4 feet near public rights-of-way. The Town of Vienna sets heights by yard in its zoning ordinance. We check the rules for your property before we build.
Do you handle the permit and the Miss Utility call?
Yes. We check county or town rules, file what the property needs, and call 811 (Miss Utility) so utilities are located before digging. Customers regularly mention Ray handling the permit and the Miss Utility in their reviews.
What fence materials do you install?
Wood privacy (board-on-board, shadowbox, stockade, picket), vinyl, aluminum including horizontal styles, chain link in galvanized and black vinyl-coated, ornamental iron, composite fencing from Trex and Simtek, pool fencing, and ranch rail with deer fencing. Automatic gates come as single swing, dual swing, slide, and cantilever.
How long does fence installation take?
Most residential installs take one to three days on site once materials arrive. The timeline before that depends on permits, HOA approval, and material lead time. We set the install date after the estimate, the permit check, and the utility locate.
Can you remove my old fence?
Yes. Old fence removal and haul-away is part of a replacement job. Tell us during the estimate and it goes into the scope and the price.
Do you repair fences or only install new ones?
Both. We repair leaning sections, storm damage, failing posts, and gates that no longer latch, and we replace lines that are past repair. If the repair costs more than a quarter of a new fence, we will say so on the estimate.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Super Fabrications LLC is licensed, bonded, and insured, a VA Class A contractor, and a member of the American Fence Association. We are also a LiftMaster authorized dealer for automatic gates.
What areas do you serve?

The company is based in Vienna, Virginia, and the estimate happens on your property.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Ask about financing when you request the estimate and we will walk you through the current options.
Do you install railings or stairs?
No. We install, repair, and replace fences and automatic gates. We do not offer railing installation, stair installation, welding, or metal fabrication.
